WHO ARE WE?
The ICT4COP (Community-Oriented Policing) Research Project, part of the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), focuses on improving security and peacebuilding efforts in post-conflict societies through community-centered policing models.
OBJECTIVES
Discover our collaborative approach to drive impactful solutions
in the policy community.
1
To develop and apply novel approaches to the study of post-conflict police reform through combining research, practice and technologies.
2
To create a dynamic arena for researchers in social science and technology, international and national police and civil society actors working with communities.
3
To undertake high quality, interdisciplinary co-productive, applied and action research on current and emerging issues relevant to COP and police reform
4
To communicate research findings in key international and national policy and implementation environments
5
To develop teaching and learning resources for a variety of interested users, including students, policymakers, bureaucrats, police, and civil society actors.
6
To maintain and further develop our global network of researchers and practitioners in collaboration with the PHS Police Experts Network (PEN).
By fostering cooperation between law enforcement and local communities, the project aims to create sustainable, resilient policing structures that enhance trust and safety. ICT4COP brings together a diverse network of researchers, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders to address challenges in countries affected by conflict, ensuring that policing reforms are inclusive, adaptable, and responsive to local needs.
“Insert a phrase!”
We take pride in our work at ICT4COP for its role in fostering collaboration and empowering the policy community to create meaningful change.
