The Center for Community-Based Policing and Post-Conflict Police Reform (or ICT4COP Center) is an international and interdisciplinary research and learning center hosted by the Department of International Environment and Development Studies, Faculty of Landscape and Society, Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU)

Mission

This initiative led to the establishment of a constructive dialogue between officers and residents, fostering mutual respect and collaboration.

Vision

A community engagement initiative significantly improved police transparency, leading to heightened trust and cooperative partnerships.

Workshops organized on conflict resolution and community outreach equipped participants with skills to address issues collaboratively.

Head of ICT4COP Center participated in ‘Community Policing’ event organized by CERIS

Ingrid Nyborg head of ICT4COP Center was invited to Brussels on May 25th to sit on a panel at the EU DG-Home event  ‘Community Policing’ organized by Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS). Ingrid presented insights gained from the ICT4COP initiative and offered suggestions on successful implementation strategies to enhance the effectiveness of future research and innovation endeavors.

The event was aimed to bring together practitioners, policy makers and researchers to discuss the lessons drawn from several projects related to Community Policing. The event was attended by researchers practitioners and policymakers.
